About The Position

SAIC is seeking a full-time Remote Pilot Operator (RPO) to join its Controller Training Solutions team at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International ATCT/TRACON in Avoca, Pennsylvania. The position supports air traffic controller training services for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This is not a UAS, UAV, RPV, or drone pilot position. The RPO plays the role of pilots and other controllers in an air traffic control training simulator. Using a simulated radar display and voice communication system, the RPO simulates pilot actions and communications with remote ATC facilities during medium- and high-fidelity training exercises. The RPO receives voice commands from students, enters appropriate information into the automated system, interprets displayed information using ATC terminology, and responds to students through the voice communication system using proper phraseology. The candidate must complete Classroom certification, which includes passing a test on airspace and procedures, and Lab certification, which involves performing as an RPO on all positions.
