DATACOM Traveling Remote Pilot Operator

SAIC•Oklahoma City, OK

About The Position

SAIC is seeking full-time Remote Pilot Operator (RPO) candidates for its traveling Datacom team, supporting Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) air traffic controller training services. This is not a UAS, UAV, RPV, or drone pilot position. The RPO plays the roles of pilots and other controllers in an air traffic controller training simulator. Using a simulated radar display and voice communication system, the RPO simulates pilot actions and communications with remote ATC facilities during medium- and high-fidelity training exercises. RPOs receive voice commands from students, enter appropriate information into the automated system, interpret displayed information using ATC terminology, and respond to students through the voice communication system using proper phraseology. Candidates must complete classroom certification, including a test on airspace and procedures, and lab certification, demonstrating performance as an RPO on all positions. SAIC provides training and training-related support services for FAA ATC facilities throughout the United States and its territories.
