Relief Nursing Supervisor

Grand Lake Health System

About The Position

The Relief Nursing Supervisor coordinates resources on a shift basis to meet the needs of patients, staff, and physicians, and shares responsibility for managing the hospital’s human, material, and financial resources. The role leads patient placement and works with department managers to ensure staffing aligns with approved staffing plans and patient acuity. The supervisor models professional communication, uses data to solve problems and make decisions, and fosters a positive work environment that supports JTDMH’s quality, safety, and satisfaction goals. The role helps implement and enforce hospital policies and procedures, contributes to performance appraisals, and takes corrective action as appropriate. The position provides coverage for nursing leadership and the Administrator On-Call when needed, including planned or unplanned time off, continuing education, and emergency management. In the absence of other leaders and the Administrator On-Call, the supervisor assumes whole-house administrative responsibility. This is a casual role requiring flexibility to float across units and work weekends and holidays on a rotation consistent with casual policy.
