About The Position

The Rehabilitation Therapy Technician I supports rehabilitation therapists and contributes to patient care in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. The role includes preparing equipment, helping maintain a safe environment, collaborating with therapists and nurses, and supporting patient-centered treatment. The technician prepares and transports patients according to the schedule, communicates with patients, families, and caregivers, and shares observations about patient care activities with therapists.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of the elements required for clinical ladder Rehab Tech I, or equivalent training in school or on-the-job training.
• CPR certification preferred, unless hospital policy requires otherwise.

Responsibilities

• Support therapists’ daily patient care and therapy activities.
• Facilitate effective communication with patients, families, and caregivers.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to maintain patient safety and deliver patient-centered treatment.
• Prepare and transport patients according to the patient schedule.
• Communicate outcomes and observations from patient care activities to therapists.
• Set up equipment and help maintain a safe working environment.
• Collaborate closely with therapists and nurses.
