About The Position

The Rehabilitation Therapy Technician I supports rehabilitation therapists and contributes to patient care in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. The role includes assisting with daily patient care and therapy activities, preparing and transporting patients according to schedule, and helping maintain patient safety. The technician communicates with patients, families, and caregivers, collaborates with therapists, nurses, and the broader healthcare team, and relays observations and outcomes of patient care activities to therapists.

Requirements

• Has completed elements required for clinical ladder Rehab Tech I or has equivalent training in school or on-the-job training.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification is preferred, unless hospital policy requires otherwise.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support therapists’ daily patient care and therapy activities.
• Facilitate effective communication with patients, families, and caregivers.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to maintain patient safety and deliver patient-centered treatment.
• Prepare and transport patients according to the patient schedule.
• Communicate observations and outcomes of patient care activities to therapists.
• Set up equipment and help maintain a safe working environment.
