About The Position

This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach PSY3377: Cognition, a course in the School of Psychology at the University of Ottawa. The course is an introduction to contemporary cognitive psychology, covering its historic foundations, acquisition of knowledge, analysis of cognitive strategies, current research, and includes laboratory activities. The course is offered in English and is scheduled for Thursdays from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with a laboratory session on Thursdays from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. The course delivery is in-person and must be maintained as such without prior approval from the Vice-Dean of Governance. Requirements

Ph.D. in Psychology with a thesis in Cognition.
Competence in second language: Passive.
Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.

Responsibilities

Teach PSY3377: Cognition, including lectures and laboratory activities.
Maintain the assigned mode of course delivery (in-person).
Inform the School of Psychology Secretariat if a class needs to be cancelled.
Arrange for a suitable replacement instructor in advance of an upcoming absence.
