About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position to teach ANT1501 B00, Social and Cultural Anthropology, during the 2027 Winter Semester. The course provides an introduction to the study of human lifestyles and the socio-historical contexts in which anthropology is born and develops. It covers the study of cultural and social systems, kinship, politics, economics, religion, and the environment. The course is scheduled to meet on Tuesdays from 13:00 to 14:30 and Thursdays from 11:30 to 13:00, in person.

Requirements

  • Hold a Master's degree in anthropology or a more advanced degree in anthropology.
  • Possess a record demonstrating expertise in the field of social and cultural anthropology, evidenced by teaching identical or similar courses or by publications in this field.
  • Competence in a second language (passive).

Nice To Haves

  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach ANT1501 B00, Social and Cultural Anthropology.
  • Provide instruction in French.
  • Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
