About The Position
The Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Psychology at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach PSY4327, Section B00, 'Sleep and Dreams' during the Fall 2026 semester. This course explores sleep and dreams in the context of physiology and psychological adaptation, covering functions of sleep, sleep disorders and their treatment, theories of dream functions, and the relationship between dreams, health, personality, and consciousness. The course includes laboratory activities such as a sleep-lab experiment or dream analysis lab. The course is offered in person and will be taught in English.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Psychology
- Advanced knowledge in Neuroscience
- Advanced knowledge in sleep and dreams
- Competence in second language: Passive
- Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training.
- Ability to maintain the original assigned mode of course delivery (in-person).

- An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
Responsibilities
- Teach the course 'Sleep and Dreams' (PSY4327, Section B00) during the Fall 2026 semester.

- Maintain the original assigned mode of course delivery (in-person).
- Promptly inform the School of Psychology Secretariat if a class needs to be cancelled.
- Arrange for a suitable replacement instructor if aware in advance of an upcoming absence.
