About The Position

The Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Social Work at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor for the Fall 2026 semester to teach GRT1101 A00, Introduction to Aging. This course explores aging as a biological, psychological, and sociological phenomenon within a Canadian context, examining population aging and its impacts, as well as links between aging and social issues like discrimination and suicide. The course will be offered remotely.

Requirements

  • PhD completed or in progress in social sciences with a specialization in gerontology OR MA with five years’ experience in the field of gerontology.
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
  • Employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching experience in gerontology is an asset.

Responsibilities
