About The Position
This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position for the Qualitative Methods course (CMN3103-B00) during the Fall 2026 semester at the University of Ottawa. The course is an introduction to ethnography and other qualitative methods for understanding communication phenomena, including participant observation, case studies, and focus groups, with a practical application of these methodologies. The course will be offered in English and will be taught in person on Wednesdays from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. The expected enrollment is 67 students, and the course is worth 3 credits.
Requirements
- PH.D. or M.A. in communication (preferably) or related discipline
- Excellent knowledge of qualitative research methods in the field of communication studies
- Knowledge or expertise in the use of qualitative data analysis software
- Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law
