About The Position

The Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Psychology at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach PSY2174: Research Methods and Ethics. This course covers the methodology and ethics of research, including research protocols, experimental and non-experimental designs, documentation, and writing style. The course is offered in person and is scheduled for Mondays from 16:00-17:30 and Wednesdays from 14:30-16:00, with a lab session on Wednesdays from 16:00-17:30. The expected enrollment is 60 students.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Psychology
  • Advanced knowledge of the course content area
  • Competence in second language: Passive
  • Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.

  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Research Methods and Ethics (PSY2174).
  • Maintain the original assigned mode of course delivery (in-person).
  • Inform the School of Psychology Secretariat if a class needs to be cancelled.
  • Arrange for a suitable replacement instructor in case of an upcoming absence.
