About The Position

This course, PSY3523 Section A00, is offered for the Fall 2026 semester by the School of Psychology within the Faculty of Social Sciences. The course focuses on various aspects of family dynamics, including relationships, separation, divorce, remarriage, step-parenting, childlessness, infertility, pregnancy, caregiving, poverty, abuse (child, spouse, elder), work-life balance, psychopathology, and treatment within the family context. It also covers current research in the psychology of the family. The course component is a lecture, and it is proposed to be delivered in-person. The language of instruction is French, with passive competence in a second language required. The course is a B component with 3 credits.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Psychology or Master's degree with advanced knowledge in Psychology of The Family.
  • Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
  • Competence in French (language of instruction).

Nice To Haves

  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
  • Passive competence in a second language.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course PSY3523 Section A00: Psychologie de la famille.
  • Maintain the original assigned mode of course delivery (in-person).
  • Inform the School of Psychology Secretariat promptly if a class needs to be cancelled.
  • Arrange for a suitable replacement instructor in advance of any foreseen absence.
