About The Position
The University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Scientific Thought and Social Values (PHI2394-D00) during the 2027 Winter Semester. This course explores the nature of scientific thought and its relationships with culture, religion, politics, technology, and society. The teaching mode is in-person, with classes scheduled on Wednesdays from 16:00 to 17:20 and Fridays from 14:30 to 15:50. The expected enrollment is 200 students, and the course is worth 3 credits. Requirements
- Ph.D in Philosophy.
- Experience in teaching at university level in Philosophy.
- Competence in English (language of instruction).
- Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training.

Responsibilities
- Teach Scientific Thought and Social Values (PHI2394-D00) during the 2027 Winter Semester.
- Develop and submit a syllabus subject to the approval of the Director of Undergraduate Studies, Department of Philosophy.
- Conduct classes in person on Wednesdays and Fridays.
- Potentially complete mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
