About The Position

This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach CMN2101-D00, Research Methods in Communication, during the 2027 Winter Semester. The course provides an introduction to research in communication studies, covering the use of traditional and computerized resources, basic concepts, and the main stages of a research project including defining subjects, hypotheses, and methodologies. The course is scheduled for Tuesdays from 19:00 to 22:00 and will be offered in person. The University of Ottawa is committed to diversity, inclusion, and creating a barrier-free work environment. Requirements

Excellent knowledge in applied research methods in the field of Communication.
Ph.D. or M.A. in Communication (an asset).
Teaching experience in the field of research methods (an asset).
An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.

Responsibilities

Teach CMN2101-D00, Research Methods in Communication.
Introduce students to research in communication studies.
Cover the use of traditional documentation and computerized resources, including the Internet.
Explain basic concepts and main stages of a research project: defining subjects, hypotheses and methodologies.
