About The Position

The University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor for HIS4151-D00, Seminar in American History: Reconstruction (1863-1877) and Its Legacies, during the 2027 Winter Semester. This course will explore the pivotal period of Reconstruction in American history, examining the challenges of reintegrating the Confederate states, ensuring the rights of newly freed slaves, and the lasting impacts of this era. The seminar will delve into the constitutional amendments, experiments in democracy, and the reasons behind the perceived failure of Reconstruction and its consequences for American society. Requirements

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field.
  • Satisfactory teaching evaluations.
