About The Position
The Faculty of Arts, Department of Communication is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Quantitative Methods (CMN3102-C00) during the Fall 2026 semester. This course surveys and applies major quantitative concepts and techniques relevant to communication studies research, including computer data analysis, descriptive and inferential statistics, questionnaire design, and administering surveys to test hypotheses. The course is scheduled to be taught in person on Tuesdays from 13:00-14:30 and Thursdays from 11:30-13:00. The expected enrollment is 74 students, and the course is worth 3 credits.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or M.A. in Communication (preferably) or related discipline.
- Excellent knowledge of quantitative research methods in the field of communication studies.
- Knowledge or expertise in the use of quantitative data analysis software.
Responsibilities
- Survey and application of major quantitative concepts and techniques in the context of research questions and problems relating to communication studies.
- Computer analysis of data.
- Review of descriptive and inferential statistics, measurement, questionnaire design.
- Administering a survey to statistically test hypotheses.
