About The Position

The Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Psychology at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach PSY2301: Biological Foundations of Behaviour during the Fall 2026 semester. This course covers the fundamentals of genetics and cytology, elements of neurophysiology and physiological methods, evolutionary development and organization of the mammalian nervous system, basic neuroanatomy, and neurochemical aspects of behaviour. The course is offered in person and has an expected enrollment of 147 students. Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Psychology with a thesis in Neuroscience.
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
  • Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.

  • Competence in a second language (Passive).

Responsibilities

  • Teach PSY2301: Biological Foundations of Behaviour.
  • Maintain the original assigned mode of course delivery (in-person).
  • Inform the School of Psychology Secretariat promptly if a class needs to be cancelled.
  • Arrange for a suitable replacement instructor if aware in advance of an upcoming absence.
