About The Position

This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach SCS1150 B00, Introduction to Social Sciences, during the 2027 Winter Semester. The course aims to develop general knowledge and understanding of the social sciences, its main themes, and various perspectives on social realities. Students will gain skills to understand how societies work and how different social sciences disciplines contribute to knowledge. The course involves critical readings, nuanced analyses expressing clear arguments based on existing data, and interpretations of different types of documents from a diversity of sources. Requirements

  • PhD in sociology or completed sociology Ph.D. coursework or equivalent training in social sciences.
  • Track record that demonstrates expertise and capacity to teach an introductory course in social sciences evidenced by teaching courses identical or similar or publications in this field.
  • Competence in second language: Passive.
  • Employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.
