About The Position

Review of the applications of psychology to the health domain with respect to commonly used theoretical models, methods, research findings and evidence-based intervention. Notions of epidemiology, etiology, intervention and prevention are covered within a biopsychosocial model of mental and physical health. Illustrations will be illness-based (cancer, diabetes, etc) and risk-factor based (obesity, poverty, etc). Current research in psychosocial aspects of health.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Psychology
  • Advanced knowledge in the Psychological Aspects of Health
  • Competence in a second language (Passive)
  • Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.

Nice To Haves

  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course PSY3306 Section B00: Psychosocial Aspects of Health.
  • Deliver instruction in English.
  • Conduct a course with an expected enrollment of 147 students.
  • Adhere to the course schedule: Monday 11:30-13:00 and Thursday 13:00-14:30.
  • Ensure the course is offered in person.
