About The Position

The Central Registration Representative obtains information needed to register services through face-to-face, telephone, and clinical registration. The role requires quickness, accuracy, and effective communication to gather information for entry into the hospital system.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous physician office or medical facility experience, including insurance background.
• Medical terminology required.
• Computer experience and good data-entry skills.
• Good communication and telephone skills.
• Ability to deal with the general public in a professional and courteous manner.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment.

• Medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pre-register patients for hospital and specialty areas accurately.
• Register patients for hospital and specialty areas accurately.
• Process transfers of patients from other hospitals and facilities.
• Perform insurance authorizations for patient registrations as necessary.
• Process patients with the appropriate diagnosis as required by specific insurance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
