Registration Clerk-PRN (Dayshift)
About The Position
Kirby Medical Center is seeking an outgoing, driven individual to join its registration team in the Admitting department in Monticello, Illinois. The Registration Clerk works as needed during day-shift hours and directly with patients registering for care, scheduled admissions, and outpatient procedures. Hours are variable, with Monday-to-Friday shifts scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. The position is PRN, and rotating holiday coverage begins in 2027. The hourly rate is $16.05–$22.11, with compensation dependent on experience. There are two openings. Requirements
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent patient interaction skills.
Nice To Haves
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of health insurance preferred.
- Previous customer service experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Answer calls professionally and direct them to the proper department.
- Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity, and maintain confidentiality of patient records.
- Register patients for scheduled admissions and outpatient procedures.
- Collect and accurately document insurance information.
- Collect co-pays when appropriate.
- Remain flexible and organized, and function effectively in stressful situations.
