About The Position

Benchmark is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to provide nursing care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like environment. The RN works with a team of associates and helps maintain supportive relationships with residents. This position offers flexible per diem hours across all shifts and pays $38–$42 per hour. Benefits eligibility may vary by employment status.

Requirements

• Current state RN license.
• CPR certification.
• Graduation from an approved RN program, as required by state requirements.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of experience working as a nurse is preferred.
• Previous experience working with older adults in a paid or volunteer position is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess, communicate, and document residents’ status.
• Observe and report significant changes in residents’ behavior or health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, Resident Care Assistants, and Executive Director, in accordance with state regulations.
• Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of Resident Care Assistants.
• Mentor, guide, and direct Lead Resident Care Assistants in all aspects of their work.
• Coordinate residents’ care needs with community providers through an effective case management process.
• Balance service demands with support for resident independence.
• Recognize and help prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and report concerns to appropriate sources as required by state regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response system alerts, and determine when to call for backup.
