About The Position

Benchmark is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver nursing care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like environment. The position offers flexible per diem hours across all shifts and pays $38–$42 per hour. The RN works with a team of associates to support residents and build lasting relationships with residents and colleagues.

Requirements

• Current state RN license and CPR certification.
• Graduate of an approved RN program, per state requirements.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of experience working as a nurse is preferred.
• Previous experience working with elderly people in a paid or volunteer position is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess, communicate, and document residents’ status.
• Observe and report significant changes in resident behavior or health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, Resident Care Assistants, and Executive Director in accordance with state regulations.
• Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of Resident Care Assistants.
• Mentor, guide, and direct Lead Resident Care Assistants in all aspects of their jobs.
• Coordinate care needs with community providers through an effective case management process.
• Balance service demands with supporting residents’ independence.
• Recognize and help prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and report it to appropriate sources in accordance with state regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response system alerts, and know when to call for backup.
