About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with the healthcare organization’s established policies, procedures, and protocols. The role is in the 3 Main Medical Surgical department at UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham. Available schedules include full-time nights and days, weekends-only nights and days, and part-time nights and days. A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is available for full-time positions.
Requirements
- BLS Provider certification, obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
- Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing and professional licensure at the time of hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to support well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
