About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides critical care nursing services in a 4-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). The role uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care while engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. The nurse monitors patient conditions, adapts care plans, coordinates resources with the care team, and works to improve patient and unit outcomes. The position is scheduled for three 12-hour night shifts per week, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., and may require floating to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities in the designated service area. The nurse promotes patient safety, evidence-based practice, ethical decision-making, and effective interdisciplinary collaboration. Responsibilities may include administering medications and treatments, delegating care appropriately, maintaining accurate electronic health record documentation, and completing required education and certifications. Care must be appropriate to patients’ age-specific needs and comply with departmental policies and procedures. The role requires frequent movement and physical activity, including lifting and supporting patients and equipment, and may involve exposure to hazardous materials, blood, body fluids, and communicable diseases.
