•$38 - $57

About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides nursing care in a four-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) that delivers critical care services. The unit does not provide bedside dialysis or cardiac intervention; patients who need these services are transferred to appropriate facilities. The position is full time, scheduled for three 12-hour shifts per week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and may require floating to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient-care needs. The nurse uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. The role includes monitoring patient conditions, coordinating with the care team, maintaining a safe care environment, documenting in the electronic health record, and providing age-appropriate care. The nurse may administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to clinical protocols and procedures. The position requires a graduate of a Board of Nursing-approved nursing education program, an active RN license or compact privilege for the state(s) where services are provided, and Basic Life Support certification. Typically, at least one year of clinical nursing experience is required; two years of critical care experience is preferred. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is also preferred. The role involves frequent sitting, standing, walking, lifting, squatting, bending, reaching, and twisting; lifting and supporting up to 35 pounds; pushing or pulling with 30 pounds of force; and performing a sliding transfer of 150 pounds with a second person present. The nurse must be able to use fine hand skills for procedures, respond promptly to changes in patient or unit conditions, and may be exposed to hazardous materials, blood, body fluids, and communicable diseases. Protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
