ICU Registered RN Full Time Night Shift ICU RN
About The Position
Peterson Health is seeking a full-time night-shift ICU Registered Nurse in Kerrville, Texas. The schedule is 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The Registered Nurse is accountable for the quality of care provided to patients and their families in accordance with nursing practice standards and Peterson Health’s mission, vision, values, and behavioral expectations. The RN assesses and reassesses patients, plans care addressing their spiritual, emotional, physiological, and psychosocial needs, and evaluates and documents patient responses in the medical record. The RN ensures the plan of care is carried out, either directly or through appropriate delegation to unit personnel. A sign-on bonus is currently offered to qualifying full-time RNs. Applicants must graduate from an accredited school of nursing, hold current Texas RN licensure, and have BLS and ACLS certification. Nurses without current ACLS certification must complete it within six months of employment and renew it within two months of the recommended renewal date. Required experience includes the knowledge to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care, as well as one year of RN experience on a medical/surgical unit. A BSN, PALS, CCRN, and prior ICU RN experience are preferred.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification, or completion within six months of employment and renewal within two months of the recommended renewal date.
- Knowledge and ability to perform skills necessary for unit-specific competencies.
- Knowledge to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients.
- One year of experience as an RN on a medical/surgical unit.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- PALS certification.
- CCRN certification.
- Previous experience as an RN in an Intensive Care Unit.
Responsibilities
- Assess and reassess each patient.
- Plan care that addresses patients’ spiritual, emotional, physiological, and psychosocial needs.
- Evaluate and document patient responses in the patient record.
- Carry out the plan of care directly and/or through appropriate delegation to unit personnel.
- Provide quality care to patients and their families according to the Standards of Nursing Practice.
