About The Position

Peterson Health is seeking a full-time night-shift ICU Registered Nurse in Kerrville, Texas. The shift is 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The RN is accountable for the quality of care provided to patients and their families in accordance with nursing practice standards and Peterson Health’s mission, vision, values, and behavioral expectations. The nurse assesses and reassesses patients; plans care to address spiritual, emotional, physiological, and psychosocial needs; evaluates and documents patient responses; and ensures the plan of care is carried out through direct care and appropriate delegation to unit personnel.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Knowledge and ability to perform skills necessary for unit-specific competencies.
• Current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification, or complete ACLS within six months of employment and renew within two months of the recommended renewal date.
• Knowledge to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients.
• One year of experience as an RN on a medical/surgical unit.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• PALS certification.
• CCRN certification.
• Previous experience as an RN in an Intensive Care Unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality care to patients and their families according to the Standards of Nursing Practice.
• Assess and reassess each patient.
• Plan care addressing patients’ spiritual, emotional, physiological, and psychosocial needs.
• Evaluate and document patient responses in the medical record.
• Carry out the plan of care through nursing practice and appropriate delegation to unit personnel.
• Demonstrate alignment with Peterson Health’s mission, vision, values, and behavioral expectations.
