About The Position

Adventist Health Simi Valley is a 144-bed hospital serving Ventura County, with home care services and a broad range of award-winning services. The hospital is located in Simi Valley, Southern California.

The RN delivers coordinated nursing care to a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards and the nursing process. The role supervises and directs assigned nursing staff at various levels and coordinates care with other disciplines, using critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.

The position is full-time and works the night shift. Associates must receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply. Adventist Health participates in E-Verify.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
• CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor, per Adventist Health policy.
• AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS certification.
• AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS certification.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale certification.
• Receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
• Acute care facility experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect relevant data about the patient's health or situation.
• Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and care issues.
• Develop a plan prescribing interventions to attain outcomes.
• Implement the care plan, coordinate care delivery, and use strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
• Evaluate progress toward attaining outcomes.
• Identify outcomes for the patient or the patient's situation.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to provide care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment.
• Provide learning opportunities for patients, family members, and team members.
• Provide health information directly to patients, families, and the treatment team.
• Participate in discharge planning to support continuity of care.
• Delegate appropriately and coordinate duties of healthcare team members.
• Supervise and direct the activities of assigned nursing staff.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
