About The Position

Baptist Health Floyd is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVU). This part-time position is 24 hours weekly, working nights from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on weekends only. The role is benefit eligible, and experienced external applicants may be eligible for a sign-on bonus. New graduate RNs are welcome. The RN provides and is accountable for comprehensive direct nursing care from patient admission through discharge. As an on-shift team member, the RN provides patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and coworkers. The CVU specializes in caring for open-heart surgery patients and uses a universal bed model. The team provides care across the patient journey, including pre-operative teaching, open-heart recovery, cardiac ICU care, and discharge teaching. The unit also cares for general ICU and complex cardiology patients, patients requiring devices such as intra-aortic balloon pumps and Impellas, and patients requiring cooling after cardiac arrest. Requirements

Current Indiana or compact-state RN license.
BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.
ACLS certification, to be obtained within 12 months of hire.
NIH Stroke Scale certification, required within 10 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive direct nursing care to patients from admission through discharge.
Provide direct patient care as an on-shift team member, addressing the needs of patients, families, and coworkers.
Care for open-heart surgery patients across pre-operative teaching, recovery, cardiac ICU care, and discharge teaching.
Care for general ICU patients, complex cardiology patients, patients requiring cardiac devices, and patients requiring cooling after cardiac arrest.
