RN Weekend Only Nights Cardiovascular ICU

About The Position

Baptist Health Floyd is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVU). This part-time position is 24 hours weekly, working nights from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. every weekend as part of the Weekend Only Work (WOW) program. It is benefit eligible, and experienced external applicants may be eligible for a sign-on bonus. The RN provides and is accountable for direct, comprehensive nursing care from patient admission through discharge, working as an on-shift team member to meet the needs of patients, families, and coworkers. The CVU specializes in care for open-heart surgery patients and uses a universal bed model, supporting care from pre-operative teaching and post-operative recovery through cardiac ICU care and discharge teaching. The unit also cares for general ICU patients, complex cardiology patients, patients requiring devices such as intra-aortic balloon pumps and Impellas, and patients requiring cooling after cardiac arrest. New graduate RNs are welcome.

Requirements

Current Indiana or compact-state RN license.
BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.
ACLS certification obtained within 12 months of hire.
NIH Stroke Scale certification obtained within 10 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

Provide and be accountable for direct, comprehensive nursing care from patient admission through discharge.
Work as an on-shift team member to provide direct patient care and meet the needs of patients, families, and coworkers.
Support cardiac patients through pre-operative teaching, open-heart recovery, cardiac ICU care, and discharge teaching.
Care for general ICU patients, complex cardiology patients, patients requiring cardiac devices, and patients requiring cooling after cardiac arrest.
