About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care to assigned patients, using the nursing process and practicing within the limits of the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act and institutional policies, procedures, and standards. In the Interventional Pain Clinic, the RN contributes to a multidisciplinary approach to pain management, supporting patients’ quality of life and optimal functioning despite pain conditions.

Requirements

• Graduate of an ASBN-approved nursing program.
• Associate degree, bachelor’s degree in nursing, master’s degree in nursing, or nursing diploma.
• Valid Registered Nurse license in Arkansas.
• At least 1 year of direct RN experience.
• Current ACLS.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care according to UAMS, ANA, and specialty patient-population standards, with support and mentoring from team members.
• Collect and document assessment data.
• Develop a plan of care according to standards.
• Implement the plan of care, including medical orders and an interdisciplinary approach.
• Evaluate patient progress toward desired outcomes.
• Provide patient and family education and discharge planning.
• Administer medications according to standards and provide medication information to patients and families.
• Act as a resource and support others.
• Delegate care in accordance with the ASBN Delegation Model, legal and regulatory requirements, the job description, and individuals’ education and training.
• Contribute to a positive environment that supports quality patient care and clinical education, and serve as a resource for student nurses and staff.
