About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care to assigned patients, using the nursing process and practicing within the limits of the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act and institutional policies, procedures, and standards. In the Interventional Pain Clinic, the RN contributes to a multidisciplinary approach to pain management, helping improve patients’ quality of life and promote optimal functioning despite pain conditions.

Requirements

• Graduate from an ASBN-approved nursing program; an associate degree, bachelor's degree in nursing, master's degree in nursing, or nursing diploma is accepted.
• Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Arkansas.
• One year of direct RN experience.
• Current ACLS.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care according to UAMS, ANA, and specialty-patient-population standards, with support and mentoring from team members.
• Collect and document assessment data.
• Develop a Plan of Care according to standards.
• Implement the Plan of Care, including medical orders and an interdisciplinary approach.
• Evaluate patient progress toward desired outcomes.
• Provide patient and family education and discharge planning.
• Administer medications according to standards and provide drug information to patients and families.
• Act as a resource and support others.
• Delegate care according to the ASBN Delegation Model, legal and regulatory requirements, the job description, and each individual's education and training.
• Contribute to a positive work environment conducive to quality patient care and clinical education, serving as a resource for student nurses and staff.
