About The Position

The Registered Nurse in Psych Intake assesses the needs of walk-in and telephone callers and directs them to the service or resource best suited to their needs. The role coordinates and prioritizes inpatient bed reservations and placement to support seamless admission at the appropriate level of care. The nurse also advises, informs, and assists physicians and their offices before and during hospitalization, including communicating hospital policies and procedures related to the patient's stay.

Requirements

• Current, valid Registered Nurse license issued by the state.
• Current BCLS certificate upon hire and maintain it as current.
• Minimum of two years of experience with inpatient psychiatric care.
• Two years of experience coordinating level-of-care assessment.

Nice To Haves

• BSN or master's degree in a health-related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure seamless patient admission to the appropriate level of care.
• Advise, inform, and assist physicians and their offices before and during hospitalization.
