Registered Nurse (RN) - Psych Intake
About The Position
Paradise Valley Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its psychiatric intake services. The hospital is a 291-bed acute care facility and offers behavioral health services for adult patients, including inpatient and intensive outpatient care. The nurse assesses the needs of walk-in patients and callers, connects them with appropriate services or resources, and coordinates and prioritizes inpatient bed reservations and placements to support admission to the appropriate level of care. The nurse also advises, informs, and assists physicians and their offices before and during hospitalization, including communicating hospital policies and procedures related to the patient’s stay.
Requirements
- Current, valid Registered Nurse license issued by the state.
- Current BCLS certificate upon hire and maintained as current.
- At least two years of experience with inpatient psychiatric care.
- At least two years of experience coordinating level-of-care assessments.
Nice To Haves
- BSN or a master’s degree in a health-related field preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess the needs of walk-in patients and phone callers and refer them to the service or resource best suited to their needs.
- Coordinate and prioritize inpatient bed reservations and placement.
- Ensure seamless patient admission to the appropriate level of care.
- Advise, inform, and assist physicians and physician offices before and during hospitalization.
- Inform physicians and their offices about hospital policies and procedures related to a patient’s stay.
