Registered Nurse (RN) - Intake and Recovery
About The Position
Sentara Health is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse for Intake and Recovery at Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, Virginia. This full-time, first-shift position provides nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation. The RN is expected to meet professional performance standards and possess the clinical knowledge and skills required for the clinical area. The schedule is either Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. four days a week, or 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. five days a week. Weekend on-call coverage is required for four hours on Saturday or Sunday, approximately every six weeks. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is available to qualified candidates. The position is based at Sentara CarePlex Hospital, a 224-bed acute care facility in Hampton, Virginia. The full-time base pay range is $41.93–$61.01 per hour. Additional compensation may be available, including shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, and bonuses.
Requirements
- Minimum of an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or RN Diploma.
- Active RN licensure.
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
- ACLS certification within one year.
- At least one year of RN experience.
Nice To Haves
- BSN or MSN.
- Previous critical care experience, such as ICU or ED experience, is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process.
- Perform assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation.
- Meet professional performance standards, including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health.
- Provide weekend on-call coverage for four hours on Saturday or Sunday approximately every six weeks.
