About The Position
VitalHire is hiring a travel Registered Nurse for the medical intensive care unit at an acute care hospital in Mount Airy, North Carolina. The assignment is 13 weeks, with one opening and a start date of November 9, 2026. The night shift consists of three 12-hour shifts, 18:45–7:15. The target patient ratio is 1:3; an aide is present when there are four or more patients. There is no on-call requirement, and the nurse may float on a rotating basis as census requires. No requests for time off are accepted after booking. First-time travelers and local candidates are accepted, though travel experience is preferred. The role uses Meditech charting. Weekly pay is $1,882, with a housing and meals stipend of up to $1,267 per week where eligible.
Requirements
- Active North Carolina RN license; compact license accepted.
- At least 2 years of recent ICU experience, including experience with 1:3 patient ratios.
- ACLS certification.
- BLS certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale qualification.
- Stroke Life Support qualification.
- Experience caring for ventilated patients, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, managing dysrhythmias, and administering blood products.
- Meditech experience required.
