Registered Nurse (West Point)
About The Position
AmeriCare Plus is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to complete initial assessments and supervisory visits for clients receiving personal care services in their homes in West Point and surrounding areas. This PRN role offers a flexible schedule, with visits arranged around the nurse’s availability. The position does not involve bedside shifts or hands-on skilled nursing. Nurses assess clients, provide guidance to caregivers, and help ensure quality care so seniors and adults with disabilities can remain safe, comfortable, and independent at home. Compensation is paid per visit or hour, depending on the type of work, with an additional mileage bonus for visits to clients located more than 30 miles from the office.
Requirements
- Active Virginia RN license or a compact license valid in Virginia.
- At least one year of nursing experience in a hospital, home health, rehabilitation, or similar setting.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to clients’ homes.
- Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
Nice To Haves
- Home care or Medicaid experience.
Responsibilities
- Complete initial client assessments and six-month reassessments.
- Conduct supervisory visits for clients receiving personal care services in their homes.
- Provide guidance to caregivers and help ensure quality care.
- Complete documentation related to assessments and visits.
- Travel to clients’ homes in West Point, New Kent, Lanexa, Williamsburg, the Middle Peninsula, and surrounding areas.
- Occasionally conduct aide clinical orientations, in-service or training classes, and office or administrative work.
