About The Position

Directs and manages patient care in the Outpatient Endocrinology Testing department at LVH-Cedar Crest. Serves as a mentor and liaison to internal and external customers regarding Endocrine Testing. The role schedules, triages, coordinates, educates, and delivers direct patient care in the Endocrine Testing lab, while collaborating with pharmacy, laboratory staff, registration staff, and the Medical Director to support testing and patient care.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Two years of nursing experience in a health setting.
• Pediatric IV skills.
• Problem-solving skills.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), State of Pennsylvania, upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), State of Pennsylvania, upon hire.
• Registered Nurse license, State of Pennsylvania, upon hire.

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), State of Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, triage, coordinate, educate, and deliver direct patient care in the Endocrine Testing lab.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for designated patients.
• Document phone notes, treatments, testing, and procedures at the time of service for endocrine testing patients.
• Collaborate with inpatient pharmacy to ensure proper medications are available on testing days.
• Collaborate with the lab to ensure proper turnaround times for lab tests.
• Communicate special needs of endocrine patients to DCC registration staff, as necessary.
• Collaborate with the Medical Director to develop and manage clinical protocols and interpretations.
• Serve as a mentor and liaison to internal and external customers regarding Endocrine Testing.
