About The Position

The APP – Endocrine position involves managing endocrine patients and providing supervised medical services, with an emphasis on acute and same-day care. All duties are performed in collaboration with a contracted physician and in accordance with applicable State of Maryland, BPQA, HCFA, AMA, and AAHS rules, regulations, and policies. The role provides patient education and counseling, communicates treatment and therapy progress to people involved in patient care, and refers patients to an appropriate licensed physician or other health care provider when warranted. The position requires current licensure and continuing medical education as required by Maryland law. Employees in this position can reasonably expect exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner.
Two years of related clinical nursing experience.
Current Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.

Responsibilities

Manage endocrine patients.
Provide supervised medical services, emphasizing acute and same-day care, in collaboration with a contracted physician.
Provide education and counseling appropriate to patients’ medical needs.
Maintain current licensure and continuing medical education credits as required by Maryland State Law.
Communicate treatment and therapy progress with individuals responsible for or involved in patient care interventions.
Refer patients to an appropriate licensed physician or other health care provider as the condition or circumstances warrant.
Perform duties in accordance with established routine procedures and applicable State of Maryland, BPQA, AMA, HCFA, and AAHS policies.
