Registered Nurse/Neuro ICU
About The Position
The Registered Nurse will work in a 12-bed Neuro ICU providing intensive management to patients with life-threatening neurological and neurosurgical conditions. Cases typically include central nervous system tumors, complex spine surgery, acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, endovascular interventions, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, neuromuscular diseases, status epilepticus, and central nervous system infections. The role requires adherence to UVA's float policy. The position offers 36- or 48-hour schedules. Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed. The role is on nights and requires working every other weekend and every other holiday, including two of the three winter holidays. Up to 40 hours may be approved for time off.
Requirements
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
- NIH Stroke certification; applicants may submit while it is pending.
- Epic experience.
- Virginia nursing license; applicants may submit while it is pending.
Responsibilities
