Registered Nurse Neuro ICU

About The Position
The Registered Nurse works in the Neuro ICU at Columbia St. Mary's Milwaukee in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This is a full-time night-shift role. The nurse implements and monitors patient care plans, monitors and communicates patient conditions, coordinates care across disciplines, carries out physician and nursing orders, and coordinates discharge planning with the healthcare team.
Requirements
- Obtain Advanced Life Support certification within 6 months (180 days) of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
- Obtain BLS Provider certification within 1 month (30 days) of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
- Hold a Registered Nurse credential from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing before hire or job transfer, or hold a current home-state license if considered a multi-state/Compact State.
- Have a diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or the required professional licensure at the time of hire.
Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate the patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
