Registered Nurse - Neuro ICU
About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides leadership in coordinating and delivering quality, compassionate patient care in a busy neurosurgical and neurology department managed by a Neuro ICU team of neuro intensivist NPs, fellows, and residents. The nurse uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, supporting patients and their families while fostering communication and collaboration across the healthcare team. The department offers a teaching environment with a 12-week orientation track for experienced nurses and a 16-week track for novice nurses. The unit provides unique monitoring, including intracranial monitoring and monitoring of drains from the brain, and has a strong focus on stroke care. NIH Stroke Certification and ACLS will be provided.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of RN experience.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
