About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides total direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established standards of care and hospital and unit policies, procedures, and guidelines. Staff in the Ortho and Spine Center of Excellence (OSCE) complete orientation related to orthopedic and spine care pathways. Program staff also receive department-specific orientation and eight hours of education each year under the annual education training plan focused on orthopedic and spine care.

Requirements

Graduate of a nursing program (Nursing Diploma, ADN, BSN, and/or MSN).
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Washington State or hold a multistate Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license.
Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association by the start date.

Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN).

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care and act as a patient advocate.
Assess the comprehensive nursing needs of an assigned group of patients.
Coordinate education for patients and their families or significant others.
Continuously plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, incorporating the patient and family or significant other into the process.
Work with physician partners and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement the patient and family or significant other's plan of care.
Promptly communicate relevant information, including patient information, safety issues, equipment problems, and quality issues, to the immediate supervisor.
Communicate and document changes in patient condition promptly to the charge nurse or supervisor and physician.
Perform other duties as assigned.
