About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides total direct nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with established standards of care and hospital and unit policies, procedures, and guidelines. Staff in the Ortho and Spine Center of Excellence (OSCE) complete orientation specific to orthopedic and spine care pathways and receive department-specific guidance for OSCE patient care, along with eight hours of education annually under the education training plan.

Requirements

Graduate of a nursing program, such as a nursing diploma, ADN, BSN, and/or MSN.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Washington State or hold a multistate Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license.
Current Healthcare Provider BLS from the American Heart Association by the start date.

Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN).

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care and act as a patient advocate.
Assess the comprehensive nursing needs of an assigned group of patients.
Coordinate education for patients and their families or significant others.
Continuously plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, involving the patient and family or significant other in the process.
Work with physician partners and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement the patient and family or significant other plan of care.
Communicate relevant information, including patient information, safety issues, equipment problems, and quality issues, to the immediate supervisor in a timely manner.
Communicate and document changes in patient condition promptly to the charge nurse or supervisor and physician.
Perform other duties as assigned.
