RN - Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown - Multiple Shifts
About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care to patients in the Cardiac Stepdown department in accordance with the healthcare organization’s established policies, procedures, and protocols. The nurse implements and monitors patient care plans, monitors and documents patient conditions, and communicates updates as appropriate. The role coordinates care among disciplines, carries out physician and nursing orders, and works with the healthcare team to assess and coordinate patients’ discharge-planning needs. Multiple full-time schedules are available at UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham: day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; weekend day shifts on Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; and weekend night shifts on Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. A bonus of up to $20,000 is listed. Requirements
- BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
- Currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
- Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing and professional licensure at the time of hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Coordinate care among disciplines to support well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge-planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
