About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with the healthcare organization’s established policies, procedures, and protocols. This role is in the Cardiac Stepdown department at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham. Full-time schedules are available for days, nights, weekend days, and weekend nights. A bonus of up to $20,000 is offered. Benefits for eligible positions include generous paid time off, paid parental leave, an Associate Assistance Program, and a Tuition Reimbursement Program.
Requirements
- Obtain a BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
- Be currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
- Hold a diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing and have professional licensure at the time of hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans; monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
