About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care through outcome identification and evidence-based practice. As an integral member of the healthcare team, the nurse coordinates patient care and communicates and collaborates extensively with team members, patients, and patients’ families or significant others. The nurse maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics. This is a per diem, part-time, on-site position at Virtua’s Voorhees location. The listed shift is 1st shift (7 a.m.–7 p.m.). The hourly rate is $56.17.

Requirements

Knowledge of nursing skills, hospital practices, procedures, and standards.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to coordinate the efforts of a team of care providers.
Valid New Jersey RN license; approved licenses must be presented and maintained in accordance with the State of New Jersey Licensing Board.
Stay current with nursing practice through ongoing education, journals, and similar resources.

Responsibilities

Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care.
Administer, monitor, and document therapeutic interventions and regimes.
Effectively manage rapidly changing situations.
Participate in clinical decision-making.
Educate patients and families or responsible parties about disease processes, individual care needs, wellness, and safety issues.
Delegate and monitor care provided by other members of the nursing department and healthcare team.
Demonstrate standard precautions and patient safety principles in practice.
Participate in orientation, education, and development of the healthcare team.
Identify and participate in performance improvement activities.
Maintain professional and departmental-level competencies.
Coordinate patient care and collaborate with healthcare team members, patients, and families or significant others.
