About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care through outcome identification and evidence-based practice. As an integral member of the healthcare team, the RN coordinates patient care and communicates and collaborates extensively with other healthcare team members, patients, and patients’ families or significant others. The RN maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics. This is a per diem, part-time, on-site position at Virtua Health’s Voorhees location, working a day shift of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The hourly rate is $56.17.

Requirements

Demonstrated knowledge of nursing skills, hospital practices, procedures, and standards.
Must keep nursing skills current through ongoing education, journals, and other means.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to coordinate the efforts of a team of care providers.
Valid New Jersey RN license; approved licenses must be presented and maintained in accordance with the State of New Jersey Licensing Board.

Responsibilities

Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care.
Administer, monitor, and document therapeutic interventions and regimes.
Effectively manage rapidly changing situations.
Participate in clinical decision-making.
Educate patients and families or responsible parties about disease processes, individual care needs, wellness, and safety issues.
Delegate and monitor care rendered by other members of the nursing department and healthcare team.
Demonstrate standard precautions and patient safety principles in practice.
Participate in orientation, education, and development of the healthcare team.
Identify and participate in performance improvement activities.
Maintain professional and departmental competencies.
Coordinate patient care and collaborate with healthcare team members, patients, and patients’ families or significant others.
