About The Position

Virtua Health is hiring a per diem Registered Nurse for its ICU in Voorhees, New Jersey. The nurse assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care through outcome identification and evidence-based practice. As an integral member of the healthcare team, the nurse coordinates care and communicates and collaborates with team members, patients, and their families or significant others while maintaining high standards of professional ethics. The role is on-site and listed as part-time, per diem, with a first-shift schedule of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The position is based at 100 Bowman Drive, Voorhees. The hourly rate is $56.17.

Requirements

Valid New Jersey RN license; approved licenses must be presented and maintained according to the State of New Jersey Licensing Board.
Knowledge of nursing skills, hospital practices, procedures, and standards.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to coordinate the efforts of a team of care providers.
Maintain and develop current nursing practice through ongoing education, journals, and similar resources.

Responsibilities

Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care.
Administer, monitor, and document therapeutic interventions and regimens.
Effectively manage rapidly changing situations and participate in clinical decision-making.
Educate patients and their families or responsible parties about disease processes, individual care needs, wellness, and safety.
Delegate and monitor care provided by other members of the nursing department and healthcare team.

Maintain professional and departmental competencies.
